Dimensions Education Programs in Lincoln, NE is operated by Nature Explore’s nonprofit parent organization, Dimensions Educational Research Foundation, and serves 100 children ages 6 weeks to five years old. This nature-rich outdoor classroom, developed by Nature Explore’s multi-disciplinary design team, serves as a Nature Explore research site.

Dimensions Education Programs provides a hands-on, experiential approach to learning. Through inspiring environments, quality materials, and exemplary teachers, children initiate their own curriculum opportunities supported by the outdoor classroom. Just as children’s indoor environments have a mix of distinct activity areas and open-ended loose parts, so too does their outdoor classroom. The staff at Dimensions Education Programs recognizes that some of the best learning happens outdoors.

Nature Explore’s design team continues to learn from this space and the teachers and children that use it. Housed at Nature Explore’s headquarters, there is an opportunity for daily observations. As the space evolves and grows, we work with the teachers on maintenance and upkeep, and share that lived-experience with all of our design clients.
