Join the Nature Explore Certified Classroom Network, a national movement of people, places, and programs dedicated to creating and sustaining beautiful, sensory-rich, nature-filled outdoor classrooms.
Certification requirements include:
Create a well-designed outdoor space
Provide evidence that Guiding Principles from the Learning with Nature Idea Book were used in the design of new spaces or the redesign of existing spaces.
Commit to staff development
Provide evidence that staff have attended an in-person Nature Explore workshop or have attended two public online workshops.
In-person workshop options for certification are Using Your Outdoor Classroom OR Learning Outdoors with Infants and Toddlers.
Online workshop options for certification are Bringing Learning to Life Outdoors OR Supporting Infants and Toddlers Outdoors.
Increase family involvement
Provide evidence that activities or materials designed to increase family awareness and involvement in nature education for young children are provided regularly.
