Moving to Learn
Explore purposeful movement to support physical and cognitive development and creative expression.
Full body movement is a key component in developing strong visual-spatial skills that help us understand the relationship between our bodies and the world around us. This workshop will uncover the importance of kinesthetic learning and inspire you to use your outdoor classroom to include purposeful movement activities in children’s daily learning experiences. You will leave this workshop with a deeper understanding of motor development and the tools to:
- Provide children with opportunities to gain control of their bodies, understand their environments, and develop creative and emotional expression through purposeful movement.
- Incorporate regular opportunities to move in diverse ways to develop children’s thinking and reasoning skills.
Focus: Body Competence; Whole-Child Development; Teaching and Learning Outdoors
Duration: 3 hours, In-Person
A link to download additional resources and a Nature Explore Workshop certificate of attendance will be provided upon completion.
