The Capital Area Intermediate Unit will be hosting 4 Nature Explore Workshops:

USING YOUR OUTDOOR CLASSROOM
MONDAY, JULY 22ND, 8:30-11:30AM

In this workshop, participants will experience innovative
techniques for using outdoor classrooms as an integral
part of children’s daily learning.

ARTS & NATURE
MONDAY, JULY 22ND, 12:30-3:30PM

In this workshop, participants will discover engaging art
experiences inspired by nature that help children make
deeper connections with the world around them.
Participants will experience the Look-Move-Build-
Sketch planning tool that encourages multifaceted arts
exploration.

LEARNING WITH NATURE
TUESDAY, JULY 23RD, 8:30-11:30AM

In this workshop, participants will explore some of the
common barriers that keep children from creating
positive connections with the natural world and
discover ways families and educators can counteract
them.

IMPORTANCE OF VISUAL-SPATIAL LEARNING
TUESDAY, JULY 23RD, 12:30-3:30PM

In this workshop, participants will explore tools for
providing more authentic learning opportunities for
children in both built and natural environments.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of why
visual-spatial learning is important for all children.

COSTS:

Regular registration – Deadline is Friday, July 12, 2019.
Cost per session = $75

Register at 48 CARATS on the CAIU website.
You must register for each session separately. Three Act 48 hours per session are available
for those seeking credits.
